Real Environment

The obelisk

My group members are jin bang, geng harn, king hui, wei pin and i. We had many ides about the making of the obelisk. At last , we decided to used wire frame, water pipe, wood, silk as a material for us to make the obelisk.

As i said, the material likes wood are used by us to make the base and the cube.So it will more steady and stable when standing because our woods are heavy enough. We use the cutter to cut out the wire frame to make the frame of the obelisk(triangle shape), small metal string are used to tie up the wire frame.

The pipe are put into the wood cube as a middle point to hold the triangles wire frame. After finish all the frame and basement work. We try to put up the white silk on top of it to have a nice look. We also spray the wood cube with white spray. So the whole one will looks like a white obelisk!!

All of these are the item we need to prepare of making the obelisk!!

We are together to make the obelisk in tekun basement.

Must be careful when nailing...

Putting up the wire frame.

Discussing about the basement of the obelisk.

haha...we are planning how to put up the silk.

have some relax time while doing the obelisk.

wire frame and the pipe.

inside of our obelisk.

cool man!!

This is our obelisk !! yeah!!

we looking for place to put our obelisk.

We use some big stone to stable the basement of the obelisk.

Our obelisk was adapted to the environment!!

Looking great!!

Scale

Cik Wan Burhanuddin bin Wan Abidin has teached us about the scale that is from nano to secta.
(industrial design, interior design, architecture, premise, urban planning, regional planning, global governance)

I had learned a lesson from Cik Wan B that we should know all about the other fields of HBP.That why we got the Integrated studio, this is for all of us to know each other and understand the responsibility of others. The basic of all the fields is important to us.We must know it and apply it on our future. If just knowing and not applying ,then it just a waste of time.

In my opinion, more things we are knowing, the better we will become. So, i will put an efford on understaning all the principle and basic knowledge of all the fields.

Thank again for the sharing!!

RAG 132-Built Environment and Human Settlement

Built Environment

  • The phrase built environment refers to the man-made surroundings that provide the setting for human activity, ranging from the large-scale civic surroundings to the personal places.
  • The term is also now widely used to describe the interdisciplinary field of study which addresses the design, management and use of these man-made surroundings and their relationship to the human activities which take place within them.

(source:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Built_environment)

My opinion

  • What i know about built enviroment is architecture, urban planning and civil engineering designed, planned to built a construction, building or assembling of infrastructure for the human activity.
  • Architecture and Interior designer must be a people with "heart".A "heartless" people will just build something to get their reward or paycheck, they must try to design something that can benefit the OKU too.A production should be benefited to all the human.Dont be a heartless people.Like the saying,"To make it come to your heart".

Human Settlement

  • A settlement is a general term used in archeology, landscape history and other subjects for a permanent or temporary community in which people live which avoids being specific as to size, population or importance.
  • A settlement can therefore range in size from a small number of dwellings grouped together to the largest of cities with surrounding urbanized areas. The term may include hamlets, villagess, towns and cities.
  • The medieval settlement research group (a British organisation) includes as part of a settlement, associated features such as roads, enclosures, field systems, boundary banks and ditches, ponds, parks and woods, mills, manor houses, moats and churches.
  • Settlements can be ordered by size (or some other factor such as availability of services) to define a settlement hierarchy.
    (source:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_settlement)

My opinion

  • In my opinion, i think human settlement is a process of settling in a colony or a place where colonists have settled. The people will live in a place in permanent or temporary and will continued to grow in size and population..
  • To put it into a nutshell, built environment and human settlement means people(architecture)designed and built a stucture(building)to settle the colonists in a place in permanent or temporary. The population will grow in size in the future.
  • When we wan to create something new, first we must destroy the old one or try to renew it .But there are some building full with historical,so we just try to protect it if we can.

Production of model

There are six basic elements to create a product(Production).

1. Intention(Niat)

  • The meanings of intention is purpose, aim or plans to do.
  • We must have knowledge first.
  • There are also a explicit and implicit intention.
  • Bad or good aiming are based on the characteristic of the person.

reference...

  • An agent's intention in performing an action is his or her specific purpose in doing so, the end or goal that is aimed at, or intended to accomplish. Whether an action is successful or unsuccessful depends at least on whether the intended result was brought about. Other consequences of someone's acting are called unintentional. Intentional behavior can also be just thoughtful and deliberate goal-directedness.(source:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intention)

2.Act(Laku)

  • We must take a implement action when we try to do something.
  • The action can be also execute by a person or a group.
  • Create or make something with creativity.

3.Product(Hasil)

  • The product can be in form of matter or object.
  • It can be produced by the power of natural or man(man-making).
  • I think the production of HBP is built environment which mentioned above.

4.Actor(Aktor)

  • A person who have their intention.eg Architecture,Urban planer,enginer and etc...
  • They are taking their implement task to complete the project.

5.Rule(aturan)

  • A statement of what we cannot, should not do to determined what is wrong and what is right.
  • Most rules are written down in a form of text or law. Some are belief, traditon or custom.

6.Site(Tapak)

  • In our planet , earth.
  • The location can be hot or cold, high land or low land, sea or ground, forest or desert and etc...

    My Production(Blog)
=>Product:Is my blog.I try to design my blog with picture, colour and font.So it can be read easily. You will feel comfortable when u read my blog...

=>Intention:I try to write down everything that i had learned through the lesson. So everyone can know what i am thinking about, support my ideas and helped me if i am wrong.

=>Act: I go to library to write my blog everytime when i need to edit somemore.

=>Actor: Is me..My course is Construction Management. So i try to do my best.

=>Rule:Plagiarism is not allowed here.So i will put down the source when i paste something.

    =>Site:In the internet,website.
